Squeezing in a Last Summer Trip - Packing Tips & more

Summer is quickly slipping away. But there’s still time!

Maybe it’s just a quick overnight camping trip, or weekend trip to visit a loved one, or a day trip to visit your hometown… whatever it is, we’d encourage you to make it happen.

As always, it doesn’t have to be complicated. If you don’t have the time to take a long trip - take yourself across town or to an area of the city you haven’t been to recently. Our scruffy city has so much to offer!

A couple ways to keep it simple:

Over the Door Organizer Packing Hack

  • This approach is revolutionary for kiddos - smaller clothing pieces can be packed into the individual sections.

  • It makes unpacking / finding what you need a breeze when you reach your destination.

Packing Cubes

  • Keep items organized by using zipper pouches/cubes for ease of access.

  • Categorize by similar items, or by outfit, or by person.

Travel Lightly

  • Be realistic - pack what you love and leave all the “just in case” extras at home

  • Less is more! Don’t be afraid to re-wear your staple items.

  • Create a challenge by only allowing yourself one piece of luggage.

Don’t over-plan

  • Leave margin in your schedule, for spontaneous fun to appear.

  • Pick fewer, more meaningful experiences rather than trying to do it all.

  • A slower pace can contribute to an overall senses of restfulness on a trip.

Happy last half of summer!
